February 19, 2021 - Nose of leather with some cedar. Color ink purple with a bold fruit combination on the front palate. Mid length finsh of smooth black fruit. The finish and nose are enough for me. This is a drink now in the first quarter of 2021. I don’t see it getting better.
February 13, 2021 - Consumed blind as part of a three bottle tasting. I knew California, but mixed it up with zin/zin blend. This clearly needed time, as it started with bold, juicy raspberry, fruit candy and blackberry liquor flavors on the nose and more blackberry liquor on the palate, with fairly high tannins. Over time it mellowed and became quite pleasant, if not quite in my wheelhouse. 90-91 for me, those who like a lot of bold fruit will appreciate this a lot more.
August 12, 2020 - Decanted for 1/2 hour. Opens nicely with a black currant nose, excellent body (legs), perfect blend of tannins and fruit, with a very smooth finish.
July 24, 2020 - Love this wine! Great body, well balanced, up front black fruit, opens up with excellent combination of fruit and tannins. Paired perfectly with Big red meat meal.
December 22, 2019 - As my wife said, it is a "Wow" wine.
November 25, 2019 - Dark garnet colored, medium full bodied, sweet black berry and black raspberry fruits accented with notes of a hint of cognac, smoke and white pepper with tongue puckering fruity tannins on a lingering finish.

July 5, 2019 - Blackberry, black cherry, blueberry, tobacco leaf, white pepper, spice, dark chocolate. Medium-full body. Medium-plus acidity. Moderate, dusty tannins. Medium-long finish. Ready now, but no rush either. Went well with lasagna.
