May 30, 2021 - Brick red with diminishing hues. Rich, powerful raison fruit. A touch of treacle and some secondary leather. Powerful and fresh, with rich fruit and a sweet long finish. Very good quality VP

December 25, 2020 - Opened a bottle for Christmas lunch, not knowing if this would still be drinking well. Turned out to be a superb bottle! Started off very Christmas cakey and raisiny, but after more time in the decanter those flavours fell away and more pronounced red fruits came through. After about 6 hours in the decanter the fruit became really clear, not cloying at all, and I reckon it was even better drinking then. Based on this bottle I reckon it will cellar a couple more years but this is perfect drinking now.

August 16, 2018 - Henri Boillot Sydney Dinner (St Claudes, Oxford Street, Sydney): Liquorice, alcohol heat, sweet spice, slightly oxidised, course alcohol, figs, black hued fruit. Juicy, fleshy, very off dry, black fruit, creamy and softly burry tannins. Again plenty of alcohol here, Hmm.

July 13, 2018 - Aged, faded nose of raisin, lightly-toasted oak, and peppery vodka. Easy-drinking, with smooth tannin, fresh acid, and moderate sweetness. Finish is slightly sweet, but not too cloying. Flavours of raisin and dark milk chocolate, with notes of oak and oxidation: rancio, leather, black tea.
