April 15, 2024 - Over three years since I last tried a bottle. Opened two hours before dinner. Dark fruit on the nose. The palate was berries, plums, leather, tobacco and coffee. A moderate to long finish. A very enjoyable wine.
March 18, 2021 - Opened two hours before dinner. Dark fruit on the nose. The palate was berries, plums, leather, tobacco and coffee. A moderate to long finish served with simple oven roasted chicken. Very enjoyable.
November 25, 2020 - More flavor per unit volume.
August 7, 2020 - This bottle has a strong buttery smell and texture. Maybe some issues in fermentation? Transports me to the concession stand in a movie theater. It might be a pretty good wine but for this element, which overwhelms the fruit component.
June 10, 2020 - 14.9% abv. Dark ruby, very expressive aromas. Plum, saddle leather, black olive and a pleasing herbal note. Excellent depth and length. This wine is in reasonable balance - tannins are not an issue. Tasty and appealing now and should improve over the next 3-5 years.
March 29, 2020 - This bottle was the best of the bunch- maybe better with age. Leathery nose, medium- full bodied, full finish.
February 1, 2020 - Still fairly tannic and needs a little more time. Medium bodied. Restrained mountain fruit.
September 9, 2018 - Plenty of tannin - this should age well for years. Good but not dominant fruit. Leather and tobacco. Fine wine.
January 7, 2018 - Wine spectator: (true shc) Floral raspberry and loamy cracked pepper aromas open to luxuriously supple and layered cherry pie, smoky anise and sage flavors. Tannins ease in and frame the finish. Drink now through 2024.
Only issue is it’s so smooth it may not be interesting enough.
January 7, 2018 - What is that nose? So well balanced. So smooth
