October 18, 2021 - Following a 3 hour decant, sooooooo good. Blueberry, a bit of oak, soft tannins. I don't know why Calcareous can get blueberry flavors in its GSM, Syrah and Cabs, but it does. Great wine. Tough pricing outside of club pricing.
April 18, 2021 - Another great bottle of Tres Violet. Each year Calcareous gets better. I buy this wine every vintage as a "go to " wine that is a home run every time.
April 1, 2021 - Decant 2 hours and filter sediment.
March 21, 2021 - One of the better Tres Violets I have had. Blueberry, vanilla, cassis. Just incredible GSM.
January 18, 2021 - blueberries all over! Another spectacular Calcareous GSM. Ever since they replaced their winemaker in 2006 or 2008, the wines have just become sooooo good.
December 29, 2020 - Beautifully blended, balanced GSM. Calcareous wines just keep getting better and better, just like Tablas Creek.

October 16, 2018 - Very dark purple. Grenache is the dominate aroma and flavor with slight sweetness from the Mourvèdre in the finish. Medium to long finish. Drinking wonderful right now. Will definitely buy again.
July 25, 2018 - Aroma is a deep dark berry/cherry. Tastes very fruity, bold, with a strong ripe cherries, strawberries, and black cherry soda flavor (or feeling). Long, bold finish strong with dark fruits and oily. A very different delicious wine.
