January 27, 2024 - This was a sensationel experience. First time we drank this wine. Power, lightness, balance.and drinkabitity are the key words to.discribe this beauty of a wine.
Still very young and a lot of space to develop into an even greater wine 96+.

November 18, 2023 - Couldn’t resist opening another one of these. Our experience was consistent with my first tasting from the spring. I do think I’ll wait a couple years to open another as this wine’s best days are in the future.

October 13, 2023 - Italian theme dinner at Highland. Tasted blind. Drank in Grassl 1855.
Appearance is clear, deep intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of ripe red cherries, deep red plums. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol (14%), structured high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of deep red plums, sweet ripe red cherries, pomegranate, sweet licorice, sweet spices. Very long finish.
Built for the long haul. Needs more age for sure. Score might improve with more development and softening.

June 15, 2023 - This was on another level. It rivaled a 2011 Poggio di Sotto Riserva for wine of the night for me. The depth of color, the incredible blend of dark and red fruits and sense of tremendous power that was fully balanced by remarkable freshness… I was blown away and purchased the 7 a local retailer had left a few days later. On day 2 the complexity only increased, this is a wine that will drink superbly for years to come.

May 6, 2023 - Coronation party. Dense Sangiovese, tannins a bit angular still but aromatics are lovely with ripe fruit and torrefaction.
