Love the aroma of medium of ripe dark strawberry with a hint of heat and spice. Medium body that feels lighter than it is. Much more sweet and tangy cherry on the palate - no strawberry and strongly leaning dark tangy cherry. Great concentration of this fruit and juiciness, despite being so light in the mouth. Mouthwatering high acidity. Quite structured on the finish with some fine, but mouth puckering tannin. So much fruit there and acidity though — wine is in balance with so many strong elements. A little wild when you really put pen to paper, so many interesting things in this wine make me want to give it a 93. However, a little too much on the juicy/tart side of palate for my preference. Thus this wine straddles 92-93 for me.

October 27, 2018 - lightly cloudy burgundy color. Nose profuse cherries, dark fruits. Palate cool, stony, nice concentration of flavor, smooth finish. one of my favorites of the tasting. 92 pts

August 13, 2018 - Fantastic nose of wet pavement and macerated cherries. Slightly herbaceous with ripe cherry and leather. Integrated tannin. Moderate+ acid, medium tannin, full bodied. Delicious wine. Hard to get much better than this.

September 4, 2017 - Coravin 9/4/17: Light ruby with minimal bricking; highly aromatic, perfumed roses, red fruit, dusty spices, pure and fresh; palate is light bodied but not lean, has a good mouthfeel, high acid throughout, high youthful tannins, plenty of red fruit throughout the midpalate, primary still; medium to medium-plus finish. Overall this is a complex, serious, young wine that is well balanced throughout and pairs well with food, comparable to high end barolo though with more elegance. I thought this might be further along as a "Ghemme", but though its enjoyable, it has a long way to go before it shows maturity. I have one bottle left, will wait at least 5, hopefully closer to 7-10 years before opening it. 94
