February 8, 2017 - Barrel tasting Rudius Wines at Hunnicutt.

Deep and dark purplish ruby red. High intensity on the nose with tons of black and blue fruits, especially boysenberry and well structured. A touch savory on the attack, thick and rich on the palate. Heavy tannins (8.5/10) and full bodied. Rich black fruits and long finish. (94+)

Still has around one to three months left in barrel before bottling. Will end up being between 30 months and 32 months of aging in around 70% new French oak. Love these wines by Jeff Ames and David Grega. Same aging as the Cabernet Franc.
