February 28, 2019 - Dark purple, milky and frothy looking on pour. Smells good, very ripe, sweet and plummy. Smells good. Savory on the palate, typical rich New-world Hall prototypical but non-descript palate. Reminds me of the 2015 hall napa valley house wine. Tastes good. Ready now or will be fine for a few years. Mickle pickles’ note whom I respect, got me worried these are on decline. He may be right in that its an average hall wine, but its still plenty good the bottle i got. 90-92

February 26, 2019 - Popped and poured. Not terribly impressed with this. It’s not bad but it isn’t special either. Looks the part in color but seems thin. Both nose and mouth are a little lackluster. Nose has spice and sandalwood and underbrush but is light on the fruit. Medium body with decent fruit presence in the mouth it is more candied than complex. Reminds me of red cherry Luden’s cough drops I had as a kid. There is a bit of tannin still lurking so perhaps there is hope for future development, but based on tastings of other Hall wines with time in the bottle, I wouldn’t bet on it. 4-12-16-7: 89/100.

February 20, 2019 - Decanted for about an hour, consumed over the next 24. Cork was starting to show some leakage, but still below the top of the cork, which might explain the off taste below. Initial tasting showed a strange, varnish smell, not very nice. After a while in the decanter, this disappeared and was perfectly pleasant. I'll chalk it up to a bad cork.

November 12, 2018 - Characteristic Hall cabernet with tasting notes shared across their product line. Big, bold, luscious, with dark fruit, leather, cigar box, etc. And a 15% plus ABV to knock your socks off after just one glass. A bit better on day two.
