May 4, 2021 - My last bottle, sadly. I think that the wine is fading gently and that holders should drink up in '21-'22, but the wine is absolutely delicious today. Even if I noticed some flabbiness tonight, I still raised my rating one point from last time because the other aspects of the wine are so delicious. Decanted and served, it was exhuberant and open immediately. I quote my previous notes: sappy, savory and slightly hedonistic blend of Syrah (85%) Mourvèdre and Grenache. It brings back memories of many fine wines from the Northern Rhone. I prefer this blend to many 100% Syrah bottlings of other producers. Very perfumed right out of the bottle, with intense floral and cassis aromas. Nice acid backbone, gentle tannins, medium+ body and length, and a very nice (13.5%) alcohol level that makes it an enjoyable wine for an entire meal. Slightly less aromatic on night two, but with a silkier mouthfeel.

October 7, 2017 - CA Rhone Reds (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): 85% Syrah, 12% Mourvedre, & 3% Grenache; 13.5% ABV; 219 cs
N: RIPE, forest floor (some barnyard?) with notes of pyrazines
P: Med body; ALMOST swtish frt (approaching threshold R.S.?) balanced by VERY slightly astringent acidity which slowly transitions into a LONG, slightly tangy, bitterSWT finish. 6 mos or so of cellaring MIGHT be beneficial, then drink into, if not through, '20. 95 pts Wine & Spirits [This vendor's $33.95 is > 12% less than anyone else currently listed on wine-searcher!] -
