NOSE: cherry Twizzlers; garrigué or slight brett; background anise; very "cool"; reserved.
BODY: violet color of medium depth; medium-light body.
TASTE: tannic; medium+ acidity; garrigué/brett wash; very flat on the palate --- suggestive of low-level TCA, or something similar; this never did open up, so as to dissuade my low-level TCA belief; 11.5% alc. not noticeable. Really tough to get a read on this. I wouldn't normally write an entire TN for a wine I believe to be corked, but I did so here because (1) I'm not certain that it was corked and (2) another note in CT sounds very similar to mine. July 1, 2017 - Contrary to the 2012 this one seems to beg to be left alone. Nose is gamey , wood showing up (but not imposing), can't pinpoint fruit, but there's a bouquet there. On the mouth it's all acidity and tannins, bit aggressive for now, calms down with some food, but the profile points to longevity. Score reflects present, not potential.
