March 15, 2013 - Red with a brownish hue. Showing it's age. Funky barnyard nose. Old world style. Notes of maple syrup, underbrush and tar. On the lean side. I would recommend drinking this if you have any. First time I have scored a barolo from this producer under 90 points. 88-89 points.

December 30, 2012 - Agree that it's a old world style. Went ok with spagheti /meatballs but nothing special on it's own. Fruit almost gone - might have been better 2-3 years ago.

September 5, 2012 - The nose showed dark red berries, spice box, dark chocolate and a hint of vanilla. On the palate, it was soft with a diluted feel, showing tart red fruit, cedar and angular tannins. The finish showed fading red berries.

January 18, 2012 - It's at it's peak. Beautifully balanced. Tannins almost completely resolved. Good length and pleasant acidity on finish. Bouquet difficult to describe but reminds me of stewed plums but with some sweetness and complexity.

January 15, 2012 - Some leather on the nose and I agree with the comments that it's an old world style. Paired well with pasta with vegetable red sauce. My wife caught the prune taste also but to me it was very earthy. Ready now, I'll be drinking the rest of mine this year.

October 2, 2010 - Very supple Barolo with soft tannins and a bouquet of greater complexity than the finish. Earth and spice dominate fruit and the structure is still decidedly "old world." Very good wine that paired nicely with osso bucco. Probably worth drinking sooner than later.

December 29, 2009 - Last Offline of the Decade (MLV's & JC's): A little tannic still, but elegant and reserved red fruit with a fairly long finish with some spicebox and a hint of earth. Not an in your face wine, one better suited to pairing with the proper foods.

December 8, 2009 - Nice, balanced Barolo with well-integrated tannins. Soft, easy drinker, perhaps acking a little in character. Now seems to be the perfect drinking window for this wine.

May 24, 2009 - Drinking very nicely - good balance, fruit is still there, not minerally like I've been finding many old-world wine's of late

August 4, 2008 - Pretty mundane. nose of slightly oxidized wine, madeirized, if you will, the wine clearly has some age and perhaps is long in the tooth. Ripe and nearly oxidezed dried fruit, almost prunish, permeate the palate, along with a drying sensation that truncates the finish. Sort of old world Barolo, or perhaps over the hill, I would not wait to finish any remaining bottles.
