June 25, 2012 - Good not great. No real wow here. Perhaps attributed to age?
Recall these Dains as far more vibrant, fruity and flavorful.
Alas not wines for the ages.
    Still nice tho

October 22, 2011 - Quite nice. Red cherry, hint of Cali funk, touch of spice. Smooth tannins.

July 11, 2011 - Black currant nose, slight tartness, ripe black fruits and a hint of chocolate. We will miss Dain's wines. He made such nice ones.

December 21, 2010 - 13.9% alcohol. Dark red color. Nose betrays a riper wine than the alcohol would indicate. Dark berry, slight funk, and distinct earthiness on the nose. A very pleasant, ripe fruit character to the bouquet. In the mouth, lovely texture, with a blackberry fruit, minerals, a bit of apple skin, and earthy spice notes. The acidity has resolved nicely but still retains some bite. Long finish is lovely. Drinking beautifully now. A-

February 28, 2010 - This is absolutely singing right now. Captivating nose of black cherry, smoke, forest floor, and Indian spices. Palate unfolds with waves of black cherry, cola, spice, and clove, with a very long finish. Superb. My favorite Dain to date.

February 19, 2010 - VLG Does Blind Pinot Noir, From Anywhere 2003-2005: Served blind to the others. After going through 7 blind pinots with only 1 really standing out and some showing somewhat poorly I sneaked around the corner, popped the cork and threw this in a decanter. Showed very nicely. Seems to show some whole cluster on the nose. I enjoy wines from this vineyard. Big ripe wines where the acidity seems to always compliment the fruit. Nice amount of spice elements too. I actually still have some that I'll try to try tonight or tomorrow. I had to exclude it from the voting because I had revealed the wine. Had I not, it probably would have finished third.

December 21, 2009 - Ripe black raspberry, clove, and baking spices. Round mouthfeel and long finish. This falls on the rich end of the Pinot spectrum, but has good enough acidity to keep it fresh.
