Delectable Blue Likes this wine: 93 points
August 25, 2017 - There seem to be a few negative reviews for this wine, which feels a little harsh for what is still a very young wine with a long life ahead of it.
This is definitely a quality wine. It is a little closed on the nose, but the blueberry and dark plum fruit are ripe and concentrated. The wine has great depth and good complexity, and a beautifully playful and herbal mid-palate, with sweet basil and fennel sitting seamlessly alongside smooth milk chocolate, and toasty oak with a hint of vanilla. The tannins are ripe and velvety, and the wine has a nice long finish, with a lick of spearmint. There’s a lot to like here, and it should develop nicely.
Is it worth $75, probably not, but at $25 it’s a genuine bargain. -

July 26, 2017 - Same. Same....... uninspiring and overpriced. Flat on the nose and the pallet. with half of the bottle consumed the next day, a tad better but nothing to write home about. Sad, if i payed cellar door price I'd be more upset, ! So many good wines about the place, twice as good / half the price.

July 16, 2017 - It's alright, but not worth the price. Drank yesterday and it was so uninteresting (despite the decent quality), that I can't recall it's aromas or tastes...

June 7, 2017 - I began to think , is there so much difference between a $75.00AU bottle of wine and a $30.00AU quality bottle of wine ?
My answer is no.
I think you pay for the intrinsic value, that is , the time and the effort and the selection process put into the $75.00-$100.00 wine to ensure it is of the best quality.........95 points plus.
The lower price point is a bit of hit and miss but you can still buy a 97 point wine for under $50.00 .
back to this drop.
A cult producer automatically adds a few dollars to the bottle price.
The wine itself.
I struggled to smell a nose , but eventually I could smell the alcohol, perhaps just a hint of oak and maybe licorice, aniseed, but so subtle you could miss it.
The taste itself is what counts, a dark red wine of medium to heavy body, laden with fruit, soft and approachable ,very little tannin suggests maybe 3 or 4 years will see it out.
is it worth $75.00 ?
Hmmmm..........no.........i don't think so............just shop around.....regardless it is very nice.
botttle number 07554 hand picked, low yield.
