November 13, 2022 - Decided to do a follow up on the 2014 Darioush Merlot. I last tasted this wine in 2018 and it appears this wine has improved beyond belief. The tannins are fully integrated and has developed into a fully balanced wine.

Aromas of black pepper, dark chocolate, black plum and fresh fig take control of the nose and don’t let go. The palate is richly rewarded with a swirl of black fruit and baking spices.

This wine is in its peak drinking window right now. Opening this bottle now will not disappoint.

November 15, 2021 - - Brick color with medium forming legs and aromas of cherry, licorice anise, cedar, black pepper and tea. It's balanced and has flavours of cherry, raspberry and black currant with a medium/full body. Polished texture with a long finish - Decanted 90 minutes, the wine needs it. Sweet crushed red fruit on finish with a hint of spice. Excellent Merlot. This merlot can age longe.

August 29, 2021 - Clear, very deep garnet with very slight rim browning. Dried black cherry, licorice, white pepper. Low acids, medium to low tannins. Black plum. Medium balanced finish.

January 15, 2021 - Great balance...full of fruit and smooth finish. Bought from their library selection as I don't believe they will be producing 2018 or 2019 due to fires. Would be tough to find a better Merlot offering

September 2, 2020 - Rich, velvety with long finish. Dark fruits, some tobacco and baking spices on nose. Nicely balanced with good structure as well. As good a Merlot as as I have had this year.

August 9, 2020 - Once again grape jelly aromas with a smoothing velvety mouthfeel. The wine is big and fruit forward.

April 12, 2020 - On the bolder side, perhaps a cab-drinker's merlot. Obvious and plentiful red and blue fruit, with a touch of leather and fat. Medium to long finish.
