March 10, 2023 - Adequate. Had before a 2016 Napa cab. Pleasant. Had to concentrate a bit to fully enjoy
September 2, 2022 - Good Rioja, leaning toward a modern style. Blue and red fruits. Good acid. Good balance. Still on an upward trajectory. Day 2 was better than Days 1 and 3. Suggest 2-3 hour decant. This is a wine that I am always thankful for.
November 26, 2021 - After three hour decant wine showed up and surprisingly showed a nice touch of elegance for a Rioja. Tanin and fruit were very well balanced, not a lot of depth but complemented T-Day turkey dinner exceptionally well. Excellent QPR but IMO needs about 5 years to come around. This bottle at 8 was a winner.
October 30, 2021 - Drinking right now. Decanting for one hour was sufficient. But you can certainly drink right out of the bottle. Muga Reserva - Always a reliable wine.
July 10, 2021 - Medium body, fruity, round.
May 2, 2021 - bright dark fruit, smoothing tannins, wish I had more
February 6, 2021 - Typical Rioja...vanilla, oak, tobacco sweetness. Easy drinking.
December 15, 2020 - Much better on this bottle than the previous (was the previous flawed or is this just huge bottle variation? I didn't see any obvious flaws in the previous...). Dusty, austere, and serious rather than fruity and plush. Ready to drink but can age a bit more. From 375.
November 14, 2020 - Cheap and super plush tasting, lacking acid--think crappy $10 California mass market cab. Hoping this was just a poor bottle/vintage. From a 375, not sure if that made a difference.
August 11, 2020 - Day III. Lovely. Richer, more weight, tannin pop in nicely, the acid washes it all away. balanced. Long life ahead. Giant gobs of mouthwatering, puckering juicy luscious fruit. what pleasure. Drops off violently on the end. The lingering finish is more woody, light fruit, cigar, etc. Love to try the higher end versions of this where the fruit is enough to sustain and push through the tannin and acids and wood. For the price point, great wine , great w food, drink or keep forever.
