September 29, 2015 - Ms C's Birthday Celebration (Extra Space): Pop and poured. Drank over 2 hours.
Appearance is clear, deep intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose medium+ intensity, with aromas of barnyard, dusty earth, leather, sour red cherries. Developed.
On the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, medium+ alcohol (13.5%) with heat, gum-drying high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of sour red cherries, red plums, leather and earth. Medium+ finish.
Well-made good quality wine. Oak has integrated nicely. Sangiovese character dominant now. Otherwise, rather uninteresting.
Blend of 50% Merlot from Avignonesi, 50% Sangiovese from Capannelle.

December 25, 2014 - Smooth, polished with nice structure and plenty of fruit but just a little soulless and missing any real character. The '99 is a much better wine in my experience. Had hoped for something a bit more memorable.

May 2, 2011 - decanted about 6 hours , it is outstanding wine but I dont know why its not mine favourite, mayby because of merlot.... well balanced , drunk with duck and gyutataki - very good association, very long wine , maybe it needs still more time to store in the cellar

August 1, 2010 - Excellent balance with great structure of intense fruit with oak and tannins. Delightful drinking right now , but promise of many more years of aging. A worthwhile effort from a very good vintage.

July 19, 2010 - This wine is way over-oaked. The fruit has no chance to absorb the new oak. Not a success, this product.
