July 5, 2021 - Steely and bold CA Chardonnay that plays like a cool Montrachet..in a perfect place right now.

August 10, 2020 - The 2014 Ramey Woolsey Road Vineyard is a rich and layered wine. Lemon, nuts, vanilla, salt. This is drinking beautiful right now.

    March 15, 2020 - Ramey 2014 Chardonnay woolsey rd

    Definitely California.
Toasted coconut. Very long. Full mouthfeel. Some butter but not over the top. Some nuttiness-maybe raw cashews or raw almonds.

    Yummy.

January 8, 2020 - Never had this in its youth, but seems time for RRV chardonnay lovers to drink while the fruit still stands strong. I get the stone, chalk and citrus without cream or toast notes, strange to me for a 100% malo, relatively well-oaked wine.

December 8, 2019 - This is one of the more impressive 2014 Rameys that I have had. Woolsey Road Vineyard has begun to lose it’s primary fruit, with some stone and citrus fruit remaining. Projecting a weight and intensity from the very first sip, like a Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru. Featuring a luxuriously creamy texture with notes of marzipan, toasted nuts, vanilla, and baking spices. A dry chalky finish that lasts 30 seconds. This should continue to improve over the next 5 years.

February 24, 2019 - Agree with everything OLDWINES says on this wine!

I have some more bottles, so will leave it a bit.

October 27, 2018 - Light to medium yellow. Full malo with 25% new French oak, aged for 18 mos in barrel and bottled more recently than the 2014 Sonoma Coast I also tasted. Seems less toasty and quite tightly wound. Very interesting layers of tropical fruits along with the citrus and a creamy texture. A richer mouth feel yet still very bright and age worthy. Should age nicely and gain complexity and depth with more time in bottle.

June 20, 2018 - Not nearly as mineral as the platt. If it was contrasted I’m sure I wouldn’t care.
