December 24, 2021 - Last bottle. Really repaid waiting to drink - at the 6 year mark it is login very well. Excellent value at $13.

November 7, 2021 - In a really good drinking window.

July 19, 2021 - Deep dark center, red/purple rim with very modest signs of age.
Sweet, blackcurrants and black plums, oiled black olives, bolognese sauce(!), pine, mint and eucalyptus.
Smooth, intense cassis and ripe plums, good acidity and diminishing tannins, oak is light and integrated, rubbed rosemary, nice greenness (maybe not to everyone's taste), long finish.
Really hitting its stride, amazing value at $13, drink now and for another 5 years.

May 6, 2020 - Deep dark red center, red to purple rim, no signs of age.
Nose of blackcurrants, slate and some black cherries.
Smooth but a little tension from the acid and tannin, fruit is more red (bing cherries) and blue (blueberries), a little ash from the oak, good backbone and length, a touch of caramel on the finish.
A steal for $13, drinking okay now but has a few years left, some will lead to improvement. Glad I bought a case.

  • Delectable Blue Likes this wine: 86 points

October 24, 2018 - This wine is in one of those in-between phases at the moment, having lost that initial blush of youth but without enough time for too much complexity to develop. The dark fruits still feel generous in the mouth, if not quite as intense as when young. Even though there is no great depth to the mid-palate complexity, there are a couple of very attractive notes, with lifted violets quite dominant and supported by plum pudding characters. The tannins are still firm and a little drying, backed by medium acidity. Quite nice, but needs more time.
