June 7, 2021 - Retail $15. 85% Tempranillo, 15% Grenacha Tinta and Mazuelo. Another with pretty consistent color with very little bricking on the rim. Crianza #2? Nose also muted, but lovely red berry fruit is in there eventually. Very similar in texture and expressiveness to wine #2 (Viña Real Crianza), but there is a lot more depth here, particularly on the finish. Quite lovely in fact.

March 12, 2020 - Tart cherry acidity. Wet softwood aftertaste, similar to the Viña Tridado from last week, which I associated with ripe dark berries at the time, but now recognize as the flavor of the balsa box they ripened in. No cedar box or anything complex.

August 16, 2019 - Translucent red-violet in the glass, looks lovely. Nose has some spice notes, very subtle. Wine is light in the mouth, oaky with notes of black cherry, yielding to a drying finish. Flavors are soft and subtle but juicy. Not sure if this holds up to a big meal but great summer sipper.

July 27, 2019 - Great value and an enjoyable sipper. Not fancy, and not complex. But no off aromas or flavors either. It is a good expression of the basic style, grapes, and type it you, which is sometimes hard to come by at a bottle price that comes in near $2 per glass.

June 21, 2019 - Medium ruby in the glass. Fruit-forward nose showing lots of cherry, raspberry, blueberry with hints of cinnamon, violet and Christmas spices. Has a structural balance, but also nice integration of fruit and oak. Awesome finish. This stuff is much, much better than the 2015.

March 1, 2019 - Guessing the Spanish, who make, IMHO, some of the greatest wine in the world at the best value, send us this because frankly, we’re Americans. And we’ll buy it, and drink it, and not complain.

No one to blame but Commerce on this one. The destination is not worth the journey.

October 24, 2018 - Color: Transparent ruby. Nose: Red berries, underbrush. Mouth: Quite nice. The red berries are mainly cherries. Light to medium bodied. Fresh and appetizing. Good length.

September 5, 2018 - I enjoyed this but felt it was nowhere as good as their Gran Riserva, which is an amazing value.
