April 23, 2024 - PNP. Let it sit for about 5 minutes before swirling to give it some air. Deep dark opaque purple (eggplant) with no bricking at the edges. Very effusive on the nose upon opening with blue & black fruits. Cassis and slight cocoa notes emerged after 15-20 minutes. Very balanced on the palate with soft grained tannins and mouthwatering acidity. The fruit notes come through to the palate augmented with a hint of raspberry. The finish lasts for 20-30 seconds. This is drinking really well at the moment but don’t believe you need to be in a hurry. I am settling on 8+ years as the start of the drinking window for most of the Duckhorn Cabs I’ve tasted of late.

August 20, 2022 - 15 minutes double decanted at 5pm and start consuming at 9pm. In my opinion I over exposed it to oxygen, it felt a bid oxidized and soft in the mid palate, as well as sweet on the finish. If I could redo it again I will just decant it for about 30-40 min right before drinking...

May 29, 2022 - Very tasty wine. As others have said, the nose really stands out on this with blueberry, cedar and smoke on the nose. Silky smooth on the palate with with medium plus body, dominated by red and blue fruits. Not overly jammy, fine tannins and an well balanced, long finish. Was able to compare a leftover glass on day 2 with a 2012 Far Niente and this Discussion edged it out by a point, IMO.

February 19, 2022 - This took a little time to open up even after decanting. With some air, this really showed well. Ripe & lush red and back berries, cedar, & graphite comes through, with a silky structure on the palate. Aging quite well.
