October 20, 2023 - Damask red.
Nose of treacle, liquorice, undertone of leather, herbs (rosemary/thyme), blackcurrant leaf (slightly metallic - copper).
Medium full-bodied; backbone of softening tannins, elderberry, tin
Some length with dried-flower perfume. -

May 29, 2023 - Light plum purple.
Nose: jammy red fruits (Strawberry, raspberry, redcurrants), leather, liquorice, bit of farmyard.
Medium body: liquorice, soft tannins, tobacco, fruity bramble and blackcurrant leaf.
Good, but not great, length, dried rose petals and burnt toast (!).
It's wines like this that make me feel happy to spend a bit more on wine than most people, brought a smile to my face at the end of a day. -
