December 7, 2021 - Deep ruby. Pronounced nose of leather dirt and dark red fruits. On the palate high acidity medium tannins really well integrated, high alcohol medium body, long finish. The fruit is a bit lacking maybe a bit past its prime. Drink now.

July 22, 2021 - Impressed with this bottle which was gifted to me. I initially thought I was opening Quivira's entry level zin but this is a vineyard designate and the pedigree shows. Complex, long, delicious. Aromas and flavors of blackberry jam, red berry preserves and dried leaves.

    Tasted non blind.

Dark garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of aspirin, black pepper, talc and black berries. Flavors of black berries, raspberries and plums. Medium to bright acidity, medium to firm tannin, full bodied. Drink over the short term with a little air prior to serving.

November 12, 2017 - Mixed California Wines (My Place - Washington, DC): Bright purple color. Nose of blackberry jam, raspberries, loaded with complex earthy, spicy, tar, peppery notes, and some vanilla and coffee. Bold presence on the palate with serious structure from the tannins, surprisingly vibrant acidity, makes for great balance. Black cherry, raspberry, wild cherry, with tobacco smoke, charcoal, savory herbs, roses, some earthy-mineral tones. Flavorful, pretty, but can age nicely.

September 6, 2017 - This is my 1st 2015 DCV Zin I've tried and it is quite a winner. It has a super floral nose with typical berry fruit and pepper, and a nice burst of acid and spices kick up the finish. Great job and looking forward to my next bottle in a year or 2.
