December 24, 2022 - Started drinking an hour into the decanter. Initially I thought it was on the decline and a tad flat, but it kicked on strongly for another 4 hours after, tannin structure improving. Black cherries of course, some plums and a nice juicy palate. Just quite not rolling across the back palate fully, but enjoyable nevertheless. Smashable.

April 4, 2017 - Open, poured and drank immediately. Lively, youthful and quite aromatic, perfumed oak with violet and herbaceous undertones. Very rich, oak is just a little over prevalent at the moment, however am confident this is not an issue and will burn off over time. Finishes with a nice stereotypical rich, juicy merlot mid palate, slightly chewy and with a reasonable slightly bitter length. Quite a delicious merlot actually and whilst I am enjoying this young I might keep a couple back say 2024/2025.

March 31, 2017 - This is quite a nice merlot. Deep purple/crimson in colour and very mouthfilling. The plum fruit are fresh and bright, with slightly tart blackcurrant in support. The wine has a dark mineral core, with cedar notes from the oak. The mid palate is awash with soft spice, with the slightest hint of glacè ginger showing through. The tannins are very fine, and the balance slightly acidic. There are bitter dark chocolate notes on the finish. Initially a little closed, but opening nicely with sufficient air time. Nice.
