February 27, 2021 - Served at about 60°. My go to temp for whites. Stone fruit aromas and flavors. Crisp finish. Beautiful!

January 29, 2019 - Flawed. Cork looked like it was 40 years old.

June 5, 2018 - Popped and poured at restaurant in Burlington, VT. It was too cold to start, but on warming became balanced and complex. It held up well to varied dishes (wild boar, chicken, scallops) on the table. We went through it in a heartbeat. I can't really describe the flavor, but it was chewy in a mouth-filling way and had a nice aroma of flowers.

January 20, 2018 - Tasted blind in VV.

Pale greenish color. Sweet and not that attractive nose with aromas of ripe pear and even some pear drops, a little bit of apple blossom, a reductive hint of air balloon rubber, a touch of sweet white peach and a noticeable undertone of boozy alcohol. The wine is broad, juicy and full-bodied on the palate with supple flavors of ripe apples, some pear, a little bit of steely character, a hint of quince and a touch of alcohol. The wine feels medium in acidity, contributing to the rather flabby mouthfeel of the wine. However, the acidity seems to grow in intensity a bit towards the aftertaste. The finish is fruity yet somewhat bland with flavors of sweet white fruits, some cantaloupe, a little bit of ripe pear and a hint of alcohol warmth.

A straightforward and ripe white wine that feels something of an underachiever. Lots of weight but fairly little power, resulting in a rather lame and limpid overall character. I concluded my tasting notes with "drinks like a new world 10€ white" which sums it up pretty accurately. I really don't "get" these white Papes. Feels overpriced for the style at 28,93€.
