April 6, 2018 - This wine could benefit from decanting.

April 6, 2018 - Best white of the night, I was able to pick the Alvariño in a blind tasting.

May 15, 2017 - I really like this experimental white wine, produced in microscopic quantities by Ovid, a boutique winery up on the eastern hills overlooking Napa. The wine is a blend of Rhone varietals and ones not normally found in the Rhone: Rousanne and Viognier, but also Semillion Blanc and Albariño. This turns out to work exceptionally well. The wine has a gentle, aromatic nose with a dominant note of apricots, but then quince and spice, a hint of sweet new-mown grass, brioche. Crisp, light, and rather lifted, with a hint of residual sweetness that balances nicely with the tart, mineral driven finish. An ideal summer wine, particularly with appetizers. Drink soon, because this centers on its freshness and is clearly not built to age.

March 26, 2017 - 36.6% Roussanne, 28.2% Sauv Blanc, 20.6% Viognier, 14.6% Albarino. Beautiful stuff, prominent floral nose.
