March 30, 2024 - Red and black fruits with some tannins on the back end. It's not as rustic as some vintages, but it's by no means glossy. On pop and pour it seemed like it needed to shed some baby fat, but scarcely an hour later it leaned out. Further aeration brought out a faint mint note. Enjoyable, but I never found a second gear.
January 31, 2024 - At its peak. Perfumed nose, light body, typical elements with maybe tannins -- subdued otherwise -- not as polished as expected. I was happy to see Bordeaux in that more modern, post-Parker style.
January 23, 2024 - I bought some bottles of this wine almost two years ago and never tried a bottle. It got a little lost. I liked it.....a good value. I decanted it for 2 hours. I see that cellartracker.com reviewers have a somewhat divergent view of the wine. Perhaps that is related to the length of the decant.
January 21, 2024 - This is a pretty solid bottle of Bordeaux. Perhaps a little more modern styled than earlier vintages, though no where near as rich, ripe and hot as the Lillian Ladouys we had with it. I much preferred this one.
December 12, 2023 - Given the reputation of this cru bourgeois as well as of the vintage, I was rather disappointed. This is a sound robust claret with savoury fruit, some earthiness and decent structure but in a somewhat austere vein, lacking in charm and a bit short. Maybe it needs more age but I doubt if it will ever be a real winner. Quite good but I don't think I'll buy more even at its current price of c.€15.
December 4, 2023 - Drinking well at the moment, opened up nicely. Early in it’s drinking window, so give it some air. Perfect with Friday night burgers.

November 12, 2023 - This has turned a corner. Still on the rustic side with some coarse tannins but rather fantastic black fruits with a bit of bdx funk. Traditionalists will enjoy. Drink or hold.
October 19, 2023 - Ann opened this last night with some girlfriends. Shows some spice on the nose. Still very primary, showing red fruits, and a nice dose of acid. Not very complex, but this is enjoyable.
September 29, 2023 - First bottle of an OWC purchase from many years ago.
Nose of cherries, a hint of graphite, peppers, and licorice. Quite generic and modern. So light bodied that it won’t really scratch a Bordeaux or Cabernet itch. A simple everyday wine, but nothing distinctive. At this price, you could do worse, I suppose.
