April 14, 2024 - Very distinct nose after about 30 min in the decanter. Such an umami, gamey note. Very earthy.
On the palate, balance, tannin is fine, finish is good, acidity is super high. But not that enjoyable drinking by itself.2 people found this helpful Comment -

March 26, 2024 - Canon vs. Duffau-Lagarrosse 2009-2020 tasted blind (Fribourg): Medium garnet, Wow, wild nose with game, dark cherries, smoke. Precise palate, terrific tannins providing structure. No excess, dark fruit, oak, all in balance. The best Duffau of this line up. Given some premox tendencies of the other wines tonight. I surely hope this will age better. 96-97

August 25, 2023 - Pop and pour was quite drinkable initially, became more sour. Closed and not revealing much. In transition now the bloom of youth has passed. Will be great in a few years now, so yes 95 potential for sure but pleasure now 92.

July 26, 2023 - Popped and poured. Better than the Branaire I just tasted. Showing much more depth and character. Still, given the great scores this wine has received to date, I am a bit underwhelmed. Is my palate on the wane tonight? It does happen. At least to me. Impressive, but not as impressive as I expected. 5-13-16-9: 93/100.
