November 6, 2023 - the sweetness is a bit overwhelming and concerning - with time in the glass it seems to integrate a bit which hopefully is a sign that more time in the cellar will do more of that......Good structure though so easily 6 -8 years in the cellar....

August 5, 2023 - Cassis, blackberry, chocolate; smooth, velvety, textured, layered, rich; the tannins are not overpowering but it is still strangely a little closed, almost slightly tasteless, shy and muted on palate, but nevertheless still quite pleasing and good

May 18, 2023 - Yeah it's ok Nose is fairly subdued. Low acid, M- tannin. I would not say "huge" fruit but the fruit is the meat of it. A little pruney. A weird tartiness like someone put in a sweet tart in the back of the palate that stands in the way of elegance. Really very little structure to it which I found odd as it is also chewy. Not sure what you would pair this with but not the best on its own. Too much alcohol washes out the fruit. Drank over a 3 hour period. High scores here of big flavor are a head scratcher... fading? shutting down? dying? odd bottle? Not sure on this one.

February 3, 2023 - Opaque in color. Dark fruit, iron, black licorice. Decanted 2 hours. Delicious with a ribeye steak. 15% alcohol did not interfere. Really enjoyed this.

December 31, 2022 - The first from a half-case, purchased at auction for $39/bottle: Definitely still a young wine, but tasty enough that I'm not sure any of these bottles will survive to maturity. A bottle of 2013 Rouget that we had drunk previously had been mushroomy and somewhat underpowered. This one is more intense and concise, with high acidity and medium body, and clean flavors of dark fruit and something woodsy.

October 23, 2022 - Deep ruby in color with medium intensity nose of ripe dark fruit. Blackberry, black plum, and some anise notes. Medium - acidity with medium + body. Tannins are present and reasonably polished. Finish is medium - with little tertiary notes as expected for a young Bordeaux. This is a ver good wine.

October 4, 2022 - This wine is basically a fruit bomb - low acid huge fruit, but very atypical for a 2016. That said, it is after all a Pomerol fruit bomb. A real mouthful. You could (I could) drink nothing but this for a week, or at least 2-3 days.

September 23, 2022 - This Pomerol is rich, concentrated and chewy. Delicious cassis notes. Bold and tannic with notes of blackberry, licorice and leather. Smooth and elegant finish. Let it breathe for 2 hours and enjoy.

August 30, 2022 - I completely agree with @RYKENNEDY55, the QPR is out of the park on this one. I picked up 6 for 35 each from a NJ shop, has my first bottle tonight and bought 6 more at 59 each. This is just a great bottle of wine, and happy to have some additional bottles to follow over the next decade

April 16, 2022 - In the 14 months since we 1st had this wine, our love and appreciation of it has only improved and grown. We had it tonight with enchiladas and a mixed green salad. A marvelous wine!
