April 30, 2019 - Garnet with tinges of purple, rim variation consistent with age, medium legs. Aromas are primarily dark fruit: blackberry, blueberry, black currant (cassis). There's a hint of plum, light toast, hay, and dust. Flavors are consistent w/aromas. Medium body, medium finish, below medium acidity. Lovely smooth texture. Impression: more subtle, understated, polished than the usual big Aussie Shiraz. At $7 on sale, QPR above average. Drink now or in 2020.

March 7, 2018 - A big wine with potential. There's lots of black and blue fruit, licorice, and melted, huckleberry candy flanking notes of lavender, spices, and a singed earth dankness. Shows lift, a juicy cut, and and a streak of salinity, with white pepper and crushed rock flavors that carry through the finish. It turns softer after a bit of time.
