July 12, 2022 - Wow...tasted alongside the 2014 Rapolao and Gundinas. They were both delicious but this was next level. Depth, vibrant, tannins integrated leading to a roundness which was packed with red delicious fruit. Bursting with flavor. Still very primary so I would say has plenty of time left. No rush to drink. Last note was, Wow just Wow.

August 24, 2019 - Pretty rough on the palate, with sharp acids and and some real angular flavors. Kind of a bummer given that some of these we've had have been totally stellar. In general, mencia confuses me; seems to be a very up and down grape, with lots of volatility regardless of the price point.

November 21, 2018 - We've had a lot of these with heat damage, but this bottle was perfect, and delicious. Dense, brooding, lovely, long, and complicated. Excellent qpr, that is, if it arrives undamaged.

March 2, 2018 - Crimson. Cherry pepper nose. Very much pepper at the first taste, nicely balanced. Drink now, with cherry red fruits, light spice (other than pepper) and tea.

December 25, 2017 - Dominated by an overpowering balsamic note. Not to my liking.

May 11, 2017 - This showed wafting hints of a substance strikingly similar to TCA, and was the dullest of the flight, lacking fruit and with gritty tannins at the back. The presenter, who admitted having low sensitivity to TCA, chose not to open another bottle. Go figure.
