October 21, 2020 - Deep purple. On the nose aromas of medium plus intensity of blackberries, dried black cherries, red cherries, black currants, black tea, vanilla, cinnamon, wet earth, toast, violets. On the palate the wine is dry with medium plus acidity, full body, high alcohol, medium plus soft ripe silky tannins The flavor intensity in pronounced with flavors of blackberries, dried black cherries, red cherries, black currants, black tea, vanilla, cinnamon, wet earth, toast, violets. The finish is medium plus but with an alcohol burn. The wine is very good, demonstrating balance, intensity, and complexity. However the finish is marred by the high alcohol on the palate and in the finish. Suitable for aging further. The wine will develop further tertiary notes- but this is close to peak so would drink now to the next 3-5 yrs.
