June 11, 2020 - Slight dark fruits, cassis and loads of dried herbs. Capsicum driving underneath the fruit. Acidity was a little out of balance, but that may resolve with age. Fairly linear but overall not a bad effort.

April 18, 2020 - In a great place now; excellent balance, perfect with food. Drank with meatloaf (no tomato sauce), polenta and Lima beans. Also great drinking on its own.

April 4, 2020 - Lovely, black fruit, good balance. Drank with filet mignon (an obvious choice), sorghum and zucchini one day and roasted maitake mushrooms, edamame, roasted carrots the next. Complimented all the vegetables beautifully.

March 2, 2018 - Underwhelmed. Maybe it needs time. Won't pop another for a while.

December 30, 2017 - Opened and followed over three hours or so. I liked this a lot. Definitely a more restrained style of California Cabernet, but still has a lot of flavor. Should age well given its balance. Will try to grab a couple more of these.

November 2, 2017 - (Mostly) Enfield wines at Red and White (Chicago, IL): A really low-octane cabernet that really fits my ideal of what cabernet ought to taste like. The nose has a clear hit of pyrazine, as well as some pure black fruit. Apart from some dustiness, this is about as clean a cabernet as they come. The palate is luscious, with the fruit ripe enough to give this heft, but without going over the top. A very restrained wine, with lift from both acidity and minerality. The tannins are still coarse, but that seems mostly a function of time.
