November 20, 2020 - A terrific bottle of wine. Opened four hours before drinking; the last two were in a decanter. Beautiful dark brick red, with color saturation to the rim. initial hint of wet cardboard on the nose, that dissipated quickly and was replaced by dark red and black fruit along with something between menthol and mint. Smooth and seamless on the palate, with same fruit and mint-menthol as on the nose. An absolute delight, with enough stuffing to carry it through for another four - five years.

June 30, 2020 - Plum, very rich and enjoyable. At under 200.00 this is a steal.

April 24, 2020 - Cork was in great shape. Seepage up the cork, but at least 1/2 inch from the top; so well sealed. I could spend a long time swirling and smelling this wine. Cigar box, forest floor, black currants, Amazingly, little bricking. By sight you would never guess this wine is 35 years old. The wine definitely needed some air. At 40 minutes there is a surprising amount of dark and red fruit, some bitter herb, tart acidity, and firm underlying tannic structure. Medium to full body, long finish.

April 12, 2020 - A wonderful bottle of mature claret, perhaps just off its apex but providing enormous pleasure. A deep and satisfying nose of sous bois, red fruit and a little cedar.

Plenty of sweet red fruit on the palate - I want a little acidity in my wines and green notes don’t in and of themselves bother me but it was good to see that this bottle wasn’t overwhelmed with green pepper and had some proper stuffing. Lovely round mouthfeel and good weight and presence on the palate.

Altogether very satisfying. No need to hold these any longer - drink now.
