    October 16, 2021 - Our last bottle was utterly delicious over two nights with no decant. If you've got a few of them try it now. Reminded me of a baby SQN with the dense Blueberry notes. Maybe it tasted so good because the Sox are winning in the playoffs, it's the Bruins opening night and the Revs are the best team in the league.

    July 3, 2017 - One hour decant. Deep purple. Nose of blackberry, smoke, black cherry and cedar. Flavors of blackberry, allspice, blueberry, beef and wet stones with a tangy but lite crushed pepper finish. Medium tannins and acidity. Full bodied with a nice smooth mouthfeel. Will only get better with time.

    May 14, 2017 - Typical big, ripe, concentrated, David Phinney wine. Gorgeous in the glass, with a dark, teeth staining, purple/black color. I also noted how dense and viscous it is, especially when swirled. This syrah's nose is robust and aromatic with aromas of dark fruit, smoke, and olive juice. It's palate is rich and full with a ripe, dense fruity amalgamation of figs, blueberries, and stewed blackberries , laced with black pepper and spice. This wine is is ridiculously concentrated, full bodied, and totally mouth coating. It has a lovely long finish, that allows its fruit, pepper, and spice to linger on and on. Unfortunately, it is just too big and tannic now; and will need years in the cellar to better integrate and smooth out.

    WOTN. It totally blew away several other bottles including a 2014 Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon 1858.
