May 28, 2019 - Ripe blackberry preserves, with some dark soil and chocolate picking up the rear of the delivery and saving it from becoming an absolute, singular implosion of ripe black fruit. Much more rich and rounded-out than I recall from before, seemingly lacking acid and frame. Finishes as it starts: ripe, rich, and a bit sweet. Missing an elevated cut for me. Drink now before it completely turns into a gelatinous jam baby globule.

February 17, 2018 - Tampa Spring Break III; 2/16/2018-2/18/2018 (Tampa FL): This wine is still very young, but showing the power and structure to age into something really lovely with a good decade in the cellar. Today it is quite bold, with juicy blackberry and black raspberry, grippy tannin and a nice backbone of acid holding it together. My husband liked it for drinking now, but I think I will appreciate even more in 2028. Thanks for sharing this with us Matt!

February 17, 2018 - Tampa Spring Break (the third); 2/16/2018-2/18/2018 (Various Tampa locations (Seasons 52, Capital Grille, Berns etc.)): Double decanted and still this wine is pretty big and bold. Like many 2014's approachable in the young age. Mostly black fruits. Good structure to it. A wine that clearly can age.

February 7, 2018 - 3-Day Napa Cab Taste-Off: Vice Versa, B Cellars, Memento Mori, Alpha Omega, Purlieu, Janzen, Realm, Myriad, MACDONALD, Maybach, and more...; 2/7/2018-2/9/2018 (Napa): Enchantingly backward and spring-loaded with massively concentrated flavors of blackberry, black raspberry, black and red licorice, Baker’s chocolate, pastille, cassis, and some earthy stone. There is some definite rocket fuel here, with a bit of booze on the back end. Still, the powerful push of flavor drives right over the palate and cascades in a crazy tumble of complex but competing flavors. A lot going on here.

Hold for a couple of years. 94-95+ points for now, with definite upside in a year.

February 7, 2018 - Whirlwind Winter Tasting in the Valley; 2/7/2018-2/10/2018 (Napa Valley, CA): Lots of plums, figs and violets on the nose. Very tightly coiled and structured, especially from a 2014. You can tell this is from some elevation. Super dense, with a ton of earth and mineral driven flavors. Built like a brick house and totally pallet enveloping. Very complex. 95+
