April 24, 2024 - Ditto comments from last year. May be one of the best of the Dehlinger lineup, as it’s more balanced and lower in alcohol.

March 30, 2024 - We received this bottle as a gift. First time to try this wine. Excellent with mature RRV fruit and good structure. Would buy again if available.

November 5, 2023 - Richer, darker, more complex than Goldridge. Red cherries are prominent with background darker fruits. Long finish. Two hour decant. Still young in this format, can make another ten years easily.

October 29, 2023 - Deep garnet color with no apparent oxidation. Sweet nose of crushed red fruit and spice. Soft profile. Medium body. Blackberry, boysenberry, cranberry, cherry with just a trace of spicy oak. Tannins fully resolved and integrated. Overall, balanced and elegant though not particularly complex or exciting. Fully mature but should hold short term.

February 1, 2023 - Drinking very nicely now. Typical Russian River Pinot with cola, dark cherry and spices. Big flavor but not over the top. Balanced acidity and good finish.

December 27, 2022 - Last of my Dehlingers as my tastes have somewhat migrated from the Russian River Valley to a bit leaner style. These still hit the spot from time to time and I enjoyed this for what it is. Not much complexity (forget if this bottling is younger vines?) but nice fruit profile (not too dark) and reasonably balanced fir the style.

October 22, 2022 - It has taken me a while to warm up to Dehlinger’s Champ de Mars bottling, but this one might be hitting its sweet spot now. Previous bottles have seemed a little rough and unfocused, but perhaps they just needed time. The 2015 seems like it’s now ready to drink (and regrettably it was my last bottle of this vintage). It’s very different from Dehlinger’s Pinot Noir profile, and I’d say more New World than Old World. It has a darker, kirsch-y character and a pleasant, gritty texture. It’s delicious for what it is, and now a nice diversion from the rest of Dehlinger’s Pinot Noir lineup. I am now more enthusiastic about later Champ de Mars vintages.
