Community Tasting Notes 3

April 13, 2020 - Really needs to open up. Sour upon popping, but then begins to elongate within 20 mins. Pleasant upfront cherry with some minerality. Some tannin in the background keeps the balance. Thin to medium bodied. Pasta, pork would pair well. As time has progressed, gets more astringent-40 minutes in. Likeable, slow quaffer. Not a lot of depth-do not see the more complex structure others see.

OK. After 4 hours really opened up. Red cherry, licorice slightly, fuller body, dry tannin finish.

January 12, 2020 - Appears to be past it’s prime, tried every hour after opening for 5 hours and the next day. Never improved. Minimal fruit, unbalanced tannins

May 17, 2018 - The nose was dark and alluring with a mix of dried cherry, crushed blueberry, lavender, hints of bakers chocolate, tobacco and animal musk. On the palate, I found soft, almost creamy textures, yet energized by brisk acidity, as notes of raspberry, sweet herbs and a hint of vanilla swept across the senses. The finish was long showing saturating dark red fruits, spice and a coating of young tannin. This may not be a blockbuster, but instead an excellent vintage for near to mid-term cellaring and enjoyment.
