May 25, 2021 - This generous and layered Pinot has that bright and sweet profile that the California sun provides, but it offers a welcome undertone of earthy tannin and zippy acidity - restraint with flair, or something like that. This probably needs another few years to integrate and calm down, but it’s a promising Pinot - especially for being a sub-$100 blend.

Cherry red in color and medium in body, the wine offers aromas of sour cherry, candied rhubarb, rose petals, and underbrush (but, if you’re thinking predominately fruit, you’re not wrong). Flavors of fresh raspberry and strawberry, with notes of anise and dried spices, with a lively and restrained finish. This is more round than the Wayfarer single vineyards, but it is endearing for its flavor more than it precision. 93-94 for now, with upside in 2023 or later. 14.5% alcohol.
