May 25, 2021 - This generous and layered Pinot has that bright and sweet profile that the California sun provides, but it offers a welcome undertone of earthy tannin and zippy acidity - restraint with flair, or something like that. This probably needs another few years to integrate and calm down, but it’s a promising Pinot - especially for being a sub-$100 blend.

Cherry red in color and medium in body, the wine offers aromas of sour cherry, candied rhubarb, rose petals, and underbrush (but, if you’re thinking predominately fruit, you’re not wrong). Flavors of fresh raspberry and strawberry, with notes of anise and dried spices, with a lively and restrained finish. This is more round than the Wayfarer single vineyards, but it is endearing for its flavor more than it precision. 93-94 for now, with upside in 2023 or later. 14.5% alcohol.

April 12, 2021 - Dark cherry, full bodied Pinot Noir that has secondary flavors of cinnamon, spice, anise and black tea on the finish. Absolutely delicious.

January 30, 2021 - PnP - wow. Such a well behaved wine. Perhaps a little hesitant. But then... Pine forrest, aniseed, some Gevrey backdrop with a solid set up of herbs. This is not bad at all! Keeps changing. Balance is really good, nothing poking out. Aftertaste is immense.

10 days later - this wine is flying. As if it has found its balance. Leather couch, burning forest, dark cherries, Christmas spices and gunpowder. The slightly medicinal nose is gone which is fortunate. Aftertaste is still eternal..

November 26, 2020 - Decanted 1.5 hrs prior to Thanksgiving dinner. Nose of dark cherries and black fruits early on, transitioning to strawberries, cinnamon and clove after some air. Well structured body, not as silky as the 2014 Golden Mean. Red fruits and cracked pepper with very subtle floral notes on the palette. A magnificent pinot.
