May 29, 2019 - Canard Tasting @ Buon Vino, Plano, TX - Tasted through 8 of the Canard portfolio including all three blends in 2014 vintage. The Throwback is a primarily Cabernet Sauvignon blend with small amounts of Merlot and Cab Franc. Good structure and basically a very nice reminiscent of the 1990's Napa Cabernets (pre-Parker). I was reminded of your basic BV offering from that time period with restrained oak (not a bomb of any style). Was offered in a three pack for under $50 which is a nice QPR. Pretty nose with dark fruit dominant. Could benefit from 2-5 more years in the bottle but drinking nicely today.
