February 16, 2023 - Decanted 2 hours. Needs air at this young age. Color is medium dark red. Palate is red fruits, licorice, spices, earth. Some acid, tannins, good balance. Medium to long finish. Nice.

September 10, 2022 - PHMG WAG: Tour de France 2022 (Chateau Lyon): 2 hour decant. This bottle was a great example of the genre for this crowd. More savory than fruity, there is Kirsch and blackberry liqueur followed by oodles of herbs, wet underbrush, leather, licorice and earth. Amazing blend of 13 grapes! Now-2030.

July 9, 2022 - Boisterous aromas and flavors right away, this took about an hour open up and settle down but once it did the wine was silky smooth with herbal notes and dark berries. Excellent today.

April 24, 2021 - The nose is red fruits and spice. The wine has a nice balance, with medium body, medium-plus fresh acidity, and medium tannins with a medium-long finish.

January 27, 2021 - Saje's 2015 Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a medium-to-deep garnet wine that is comprised of 80% Grenache and 20% other permitted varietals (including some Grenache Blanc). This particular bottle was Vinturi-decanted and serially tasted over the ensuing three hours. Shortly after decanting, it reveals an impressive bouquet of red bramble fruits, licorice, Asian spices, Provençal herbs and loamy earth. Medium-bodied, freshly acidic, softly oaked, seamlessly alcoholic (14.5%) and with light, silky-textured tannins, it stays dense on the mid-palate and finishes medium-to-long. This precocious Châteauneuf, showing beautifully now, will continue to do so over its first decade of life. Drink now-2025.

September 6, 2019 - Nice balance in this wine. It’s on the fruity side but not overly fruity. I can see this appealing to a wide range of palates. Definitely doesn’t disappoint.. give it 30 minutes to let the funk blow off.

September 16, 2018 - Not decanted, a glass and a half consumed over ~1 1/2 hours. This is a nicely balanced CdP with a better sense of restraint than most I've had. Red and ripe but not over-ripe or hot, elements of spice and brush, just slightly floral. Enough acidity for food and some fine tannic texture. Not especially complex at the moment, but it does seem to have some years ahead of it. I like the approach here.

August 21, 2017 - Medium bodied, forward and fresh, with a sweet and spicy, fresh, sweet cherry core of fruit. The wine was produced using all 13 of the major, AOC, allowable, red grape varieties.
