January 2, 2024 - Consistent with my previous note....such a fantastic wine. I don't even think it is in its prime drinking window. Just beautiful!
Previous note: As other have stated, if Alban is your style this wine is at the top of the list. Such an incredible wine. Dark, brooding, with the typical blueberry profile I love so much of Alban Syrah's. Nearly a 10 y/o wine and it has many years ahead of it. Decant for 30-45 mins.
November 19, 2023 - Huge wine. Did not offer much on the nose or palate upon opening, and was somewhat one dimensional. Dark fruits all the way. However, on Night 2 the wine was quite balanced and impressive. Wine is young with many years to go. I prefer Reva, but that is personal preference (along with the much better price point).
November 13, 2023 - Incredible, but could have used a little longer decant than 45 minutes before starting as it was 98-99 at last sip
May 12, 2023 - as close to perfection as I've tasted in a while. WOW!
December 16, 2022 - At the 10 year mark, drinking very young. No discernible signs of any age. Just as great as my last note. Perfect wine for a cold, blustery night with a fire going. Delish.
October 28, 2022 - As other have stated, if Alban is your style this wine is at the top of the list. Such an incredible wine. Dark, brooding, with the typical blueberry profile I love so much of Alban Syrah's. Nearly a 10 y/o wine and it has many years ahead of it. Decant for 30-45 mins.
October 28, 2022 - What an amazing wine! Forest floor aroma, tastes of dark berries and chocolate.
April 17, 2021 - Stunning wine. Packed with fruit and spice yet finishes ultra smooth.
First time to try a Seymour's.
October 25, 2020 - Fantastic. Great dark fruit, minerality, lighter body than expected, almost elegant, with a lovely finish. One of Alban’s best.
November 23, 2019 - Another bottle alongside a 2013 Alban Lorraine, both 96. What a lovely lunch of Syrah and deli sandwiches!
