July 19, 2023 - Very fruit forward great wine
June 19, 2023 - Decanted for 90 minutes. Opened wonderfully to reveal crushed fruit and just a hint of vanilla. The tannins have mellowed and help round any sharp edges on the finish. We had two bottles and wish we had opened more.
February 22, 2022 - Delicious black fruits, nutmeg, vanilla. Still drinking well.
December 12, 2021 - Ceretto Wine Club in NYC (Il Gattopardo): Majority Merlot but also has some CS and CF I believe. It's more of the fruity Napa valley floor style although not over extracted or over ripe. Has that hint of white pepper that seems to rein things in a bit. Bigger wine though than most we are drinking. It's young and at this stage fairly monolithic. Interesting to try but was off theme and I found myself enjoying the theme-based wines a bit more than this.
November 15, 2021 - Big and bold. Plum and salted caramel on the nose, and plum and blackberry on the palate. The finish goes on forever.... fantastic!
