September 26, 2020 - Drank 45-90 minutes after decanting. The color is a medium ruby red. The nose has cherries, melon, nutmeg, hints of rose. The palate has cherries, spice, mineral, and a bare suggestion of forest floor. The flavors, acid, and tannins are well-aligned. Very nice wine. Alcohol 14%.

October 23, 2019 - Appearance: pale ruby, garnet rim, no staining, medium+ tearing, no sediment.

Nose: clean, medium+ intensity, developing, cherry, raspberry, cranberry, strawberry, red currant, rose, potpourri, tar, scorched earth, new leather, cinnamon, strawberry fruit leather, dried cherry, orange peel.

Palate: dry, high acid, high tannin, medium+ alcohol (14%), medium+ body, medium+ finish, medium+ concentration, raspberry, cherry, strawberry, cranberry, rose, tar, scorched earth, new leather, cinnamon, strawberry fruit leather, orange peel.

Overall: A nicely structured Nebbiolo with some interesting savory notes to back up a lot of pretty red fruit. A nice sense of balance: not overripe, nor over-oaked, nor over-extracted. I wouldn't call this a profound wine, but it's nicely aromatic and has everything you could ask for in a mid-level Barbaresco. Rather enjoyable with food, or on its own (if you're a fan of acid and tannin, like me). I imagine it will age well in the medium term.

January 5, 2019 - Opened to breathe for an hour. This young wine is very elegant, a feminine expression of Barbaresco. The nose has soft cedar, baking spices, hints of vanilla and alcohol (14%). Medium bodied on the palate with red fruit, leather, spices, acid and tannins. Charming, complex, and easy to drink. This will benefit from a few more years in the cellar but is accessible now. Pumped down overnight, good but less complex on Day 2. 91/92

October 12, 2018 - Young yes but so approachable and delicious really pretty nose of red berries, dark red florals, lots of acidity on the palate with an elegant tannin grip, generous fruit and a nice medium plus finish
