June 15, 2022 - The sediment formation has not increased but this still required straining through an aerator\sieve. That probably was good for the drinking experience as well, as this remains inky purple with dense and concentrated flavor. The finish is short but without flaw. Will last another five years at least and could improve.
March 29, 2022 - The first impression was of the remarkable amount of sediment; this had to be poured through an aerater\sieve. The nose is vigorous and dark with a strong hint of prune or raisin. The flavor is likewise dark but the tannins are smooth and integrated. Finish is moderate. We poured this with chicken; probably best with red meat. It did soften substantially over the course of an hour or two
October 23, 2021 - Drank over 2 days. Lots of sediment in bottle. Cherries, mint, menthol. Consistent bottles. This probably has a few more years left but this is my last bottle of this vintage.
March 14, 2021 - Consistent! Visited this vineyard 10 years ago. Lovely!
May 19, 2020 - Dark purple in color. Earthy, barnyard nose. On the palate the fruit is subtle and integrated. Still lots of tannins in this wine and a strong finish.
August 10, 2019 - 88-90: pretty, simple, straightforward Cab. It's well-made, but not very interesting. A little pricey at $26.
June 21, 2019 - Lots of sediment on the cork and in the neck. A little bit of "dust" but pretty light and straightforward. It was a fine bottle of Cab, but i didn't get the body and strength of many other Napa wines, even after a few hours of decanting.
June 14, 2019 - Consistently enjoyable! Same notes as April.
April 20, 2019 - Laura Michael (Zahtila) does nice zins and now cabs. I, like others, find a 1-2 hour decant will reveal this wine’s potential.
March 1, 2019 - Bummer, flawed.
