September 10, 2021 - Drank this at Osteria Veglio in La Morra. Another gorgeous 2013, this Vignarionda can easily deserve another 5-10 years to be in full bloom. The bouquet comes with sour cherries, rose petals and some earthiness from this great Serralunga Cru. The tannins emerge after 60 minutes but are quite refined. Very good value in nowadays world of wine.

January 21, 2021 - WAY TOO YOUNG. Based on some critic notes, I thought it would be more approachable now. Although given the fact that I like Pira's Nebbiolo Langhe with 5-10 years in good vintages, it is not surprising that this one should be so shut down. Decanted for 4 hours and just starting to get the florals coming through on the nose. Menthol and spice on palate, but it is just disjointed and the finish is all tannin. I am a huge fan of these wines and expect this just needs a LOT more time. Luckily, I have a case. This is going to my offsite storage tomorrow for examination much later in life!

February 16, 2019 - This is a big WOW wine.
Way too young to fully assess but enough to guess that it will be a 10-20 year beaute.
Closed nose, but 2 hours in opened to cola and faint roses.
Palate had amazing highs and lows of tar and elegance of flowers drenched in tar with straw laiden horse barn floor.
Would love a case of this stuff.

December 29, 2018 - This Barolo actually opened up in my glass during my tasting! Roses and herbs in the nose and that excellent Nebbiolo texture with tarry minerals laced with floral.

October 13, 2018 - Aroma: spicy and savory herbs and minerals. Hints of lavender. A touch of meat.
Palate: tannic with flavors of medicinal cherry, red currant, meat, herbs and minerals. Quite complex with moderate acidity and considerable but refined tannin. Needs a few years but will be excellent.
