Community Tasting Notes 8

November 4, 2019 - Rather old world in style. Some earth and barnyard. Likely would not peg this one as a Zin if tasting blind. That makes two “upsets” or surprises in two nights on that front. ~ Tasty stuff.

November 3, 2018 - This is certainly more on the lighter side of the fence, red fruit, tart cherry, nice spice and some typical dry creek dried flowers. I appreciated the style differentiation from some of the 15.5%+ syrupy fruit bombs sometimes found in the area.

    October 13, 2018 - Blend: Zinfandel, co-fermented with a small % of Petite Sirah.
from organically farmed vineyards in Dry Creek Valley.
    14.5% Abv.
Proprietors: Pete and Terri Knight (Family owned since 1981)
    Viticulturist: Ned Horton
    Winemaker: Hugh Chappelle

A(ccuracy)=2: Med garnet/ruby. Brambly, fragrant varietal.
B(alance)=2: Fresh fruit with adequate acid structure.
C(omplexity)=2: Dark fruit preserve, spices, earth.
D(epth)=2: Vibrant mouthfeel. Good length and lingering finish.

    Wine Tally Score [2,2,2,2] = 8/10

Refreshingly pure and "intentionally true to terroir".

October 12, 2018 - Nose is a bit confusing at first; a chemical tone but gives way to some barnyard covering classic zin dark fruit. Flavor is more normal for a zin but finishes a bit "tinny"

September 24, 2018 - Not good at all
