March 8, 2019 - There's such lovely ripe, cedary, blackberry fruit, but Beychevelle so often smells a bit of potatoes. Is it the oak?

February 26, 2019 - pretty wine, hard to judge when I am enjoying the 1989s still... nose here is a bit dirty, but more interesting than Lacoste and D de Chevalier on the same px range, good balance, pretty overall for the px tag

February 25, 2019 - UCGB tasting Bordeaux 2016 (Beurs van Berlage, Amsterdam.): Red and dark berries, well dosed oak, firm acidity and tannin and also finesse. Excellent wine with a good future. 93+

February 25, 2019 - Amsterdam UGCB Tasting and Winemakers' Dinner (Beurs van Berlage / Café De Klepel): Now we're talking. Beautifully constructed, everything in the right place, all about harmony and finesse, transparent and almost Burgundian in character, maybe just a tad short, but she's forgiven.

February 9, 2019 - Deep in color, the wall of black fruit picks up an additional dimension from the hints of blue fruits that enter the mix. Polished, powerful, elegant and fresh, there is good energy here that lets the wine move forward on the palate, ending with a blast of ripe, pure, black fruits, licorice, espresso and earth. Give this at least a decade and enjoy it over the next 30-40 years!
