October 31, 2023 - Classic Margaux fragrance, but low on complexity. It enters pretty smoothly with low acidity and tannin. However, despite its dark translucent ruby colored core, it's concentration is on the light side and ends in a short somewhat bitter finish. Simply put, it is a very straightforward commercially styled wine that won't improve with further bottle age. Only vaguely reminiscent of the Chateau's grand vin's style.

March 12, 2023 - By the glass. I still remember when I drank the third wine from this winery relatively often. This second is much more on the side of black berry jam on the nose and dryness caused by wood on the palate. It needs a lot more time to tune up.

November 19, 2022 - Lively wine with bright acidity and nice red and blue fruit. Drinks well now with some thoughts to improve. Pairs well with grilled chicken, steak and roasted vegies. If I run into this for under $35 I will definitely
    stock up.

April 20, 2020 - Deep ruby red colour. Medium nose with dark cherry, black plum, spices, cedar and tobacco. Medium taste of dark cherry, dark plum, blackcurrant, spices and cedar. Medium long and dry finish. High acidity. High tannins. Medium body. A fruity and juicy Margaux that could be enjoyed now if given some air, or have a potential to develop further. Goes well with beef or lamb.

January 6, 2020 - La Sirène de Giscours (the second wine of Giscours) is sourced from the château's younger vines, fermented in concrete and stainless steel, aged for 12 months in French oak (20% new). The 2016 iteration is deep ruby blend of 58% Merlot, 24% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Cabernet Franc and 7% Petit Verdot. Still quite primary, it delivers a medium-bodied payload of black currant and dark bramble fruit, framed with notes of tobacco, dried herbs, anise and loamy earth. Freshly acidic, seamlessly alcoholic (13%), softly oaked and with medium-weight tannins, it stays solid on the mid-palate and finishes medium-to-long. This will benefit from a bit of cellar time, but should end up easily reaching its 15th birthday. Drink 2023-2031.

October 1, 2019 - Give this beauty 5 years in the cellar and you will be amply rewarded with loads of sweet, ripe, fresh red fruits, a bushel of fresh-picked flowers, cedar and tobacco notes in the nose, and the fresh, lifted sensation of sweet dark cherries on the palate. This is a very strong second wine that will age for at least another 10-15 years with ease.

April 24, 2017 - The gravel of giscours has been affected by the river. The rocks in the vineyard are much smaller than in dutertre even though they touch. They say giscours is classical and tertre is jazzy. Also, giscours has very old Cabernet- some 70 years old so some of that ends up in here. 24% Cabernet here which is very strange for them, reason being Cabernet is awesome, or as they say, so perfect, so much went to the grand vin.

Well that smells awesome. Plump blackfruited merlot. You can taste the structure notes a taster which is not usual for a second wine.

No wooden vats. All old concrete.

Very fresh here as well with fine tannins. They say the river pebbles give very fine minerality, almost a salt, and that is certainly true here. This singing blackberry fruit on the nose. Long minerality.
