October 6, 2023 - Has everything going for it. Nose, stone fruit, acid, full body, long finish
September 4, 2023 - So much better on Day 2
March 25, 2023 - Really good white melon, white peach vanilla and buttery shortbread. Now quite mellow but still very primary. Delicious. Fully mature. Long finish, showing some complexity. Drink now.
October 31, 2022 - Perfectly nice but lacking interest for a wine at this price point
March 14, 2022 - Oinorama Wine Fair 2022; 3/12/2022-3/14/2022 (Zappeio): The wine is utterly "typical" chardonnay, ultra buttery, one dimensional, ripe stone fruit, nutty, almond, a toucy spicy, almost sweet, med body and finish
February 6, 2022 - Just taken delivery of a half case of this stuff so cracked one to see what it was like. Similar to other tasting notes I would say it was nice but probably a bit short given the price. I decanted and replaced into bottle a good 2 hours before we drank it which I’m sure helped open it up.
July 3, 2020 - Definitely improved as it opened up over 2 hours.
December 18, 2019 - Started out with banana and graham cracker aromas, seemingly simple, but it added concrete and became more ethereal and floral over time. The palate also added some stony grip to unripe melon and candied citrus, improving over the 3 hours I followed it.
October 26, 2018 - Love this chard! It is big but in no way buttery! Great on its own and with food.
May 7, 2017 - Epic Lunch #3 with Juan, Jamie, Tom, Susan and Lizzie (Redd's, Yountville CA): Tom brought this one, very nice surprise as I haven't had Stonestreet in a bit.
Medium gold color. Aromatic nose of apples, orchard fruits, white flowers. Palate was crisp with apple, pears, melon and faint caramel. Medium weight, layered finish. Elegant and drinking well this day
